Shelby Kennedy is the VP of Entertainment Relations for TuneCore, where he educates and empowers today’s independent artists and independent labels. Previously, he worked at Lyric Street Records, where his involvement with SheDaisy and Rascal Flatts helped establish the label. Kennedy is also a producer, background vocalist and songwriter, with his first cut being recorded by Ray Charles, and one of his favorite triumphs being Reba McEntire's, "I'm A Survivor." He is also the rare PRO executive to have served writer and publisher relations at both ASCAP and BMI. As a graduate from Belmont University in 1985, he continues to devote time there as an adjunct professor for the Mike Curb College of Entertainment & Music Business at Belmont University.
