Songs Our Daddy Taught Us: The Legacy of the Everly Brothers

In October, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum will be honoring The Everly Brothers in the annual Music Masters Series. This panel, a discussion between coproducers Lauren Onkey and Jason Hanley and Music Director Rodney Crowell, will explore the impact and legacy of the Everlys who were inducted in the Rock Hall’s inaugural class in 1986 on rock and roll history and Americana music. They will share archival performance clips and discuss the brothers’ unique sound, which made them so essential to the development of rock and roll.

JASON HANLEY is Director of Education at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, where he directs and teaches in the museum’s educational and public programming. He holds a PhD in Musicology from Stony Brook University and is a performing musician. He co-produces the Annual Music Masters program. (Thursday 11:00 AM)

LAUREN ONKEY is Vice President of Education and Public Programs at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, where she oversees the museum’s award-winning educational programs as well as its community outreach initiatives. Onkey holds a PhD in English from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She co-produces the Annual Music Masters program. (Thursday 11 AM)
